Christoph Schell has been appointed as the new CEO of Kuka AG. The technology manager and CCO of Intel will succeed Peter Mohnen on July 1, who is leaving the company at his own request after 13 years on the Executive Board.
In Christoph Schell, Kuka has gained an internationally highly experienced manager as CEO of the group, who has extensive knowledge of the high-tech sector and innovative future technologies. Born in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, the 53-years-old has held senior management positions worldwide for HP, Philips and Intel, where he was responsible for 3D printing and digital manufacturing, among other things. Most recently, he was Chief Commercial Officer and Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Communications at Intel Corporation, based in California. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in areas such as computing, AI and software, which are also fundamental to the further development of the automation and robotics industry.
Schell has already been a member of the KUKA Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Board's Strategy and Technology Committee since the beginning of 2023. He is therefore already very familiar with the company and its global business.
Schell has lived in the USA for over ten years and previously spent many years in Asia. Thus, he knows the global markets that are important for the ambitions of the Kuka team: "I am convinced of the growth prospects, which will change the world of work and daily life through the interplay of robotics, automation and AI. It is an honor for me to drive this development forward as Kuka's global CEO," Schell says.
