Next round launched

For more energy and resource efficiency, for a faster reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and for a strong competitiveness of German companies: The next round of the energy and resource efficiency funding competition, which is open to all sectors and technologies, started on February 15.

The funding competition supports companies in the implementation of long-term decarbonization strategies. The funding will be much more attractive for companies in future. Firstly, the funding is now based on the total costs and not, as previously, on the additional investment costs for the climate-friendly alternative. This means that the reference costs no longer have to be determined at great expense and the proportion of costs eligible for funding will also increase. Secondly, the maximum funding amount per project has been increased from 15 to 20 million euros.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection has also increased the grants for the development of decarbonization strategies. Transformation plans can now be funded with up to 60,000 euros (previously 50,000 euros). For companies that are members of an energy efficiency and climate protection network (IEEKN), the maximum grant amount increases from 80,000 to 90,000 euros.

VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH supports the companies with technical and administrative expertise during the application process.
