ZwickRoell builds training center to qualify specialists

The testing systems manufacturer ZwickRoell is building a training center for initial and further training at its headquarters in Ulm for around eleven million euros. The company is thus launching an offensive for the in-house qualification of specialists.

In future, the new Training Center will bring together ZwickRoell's training in the areas of mechanical training workshop, electrical training workshop and materials testing under one roof. It will also house the junior company. This is a practical company project for around 100 trainees and students, in which they learn about company processes and entrepreneurial contexts, produce their own products and organize and carry out events.

“With the centralized training center and the modern premises, we are creating a perfect learning environment that promotes efficient processes and the development of a strong sense of community,” says Amelie Ruchti, Head of Training at ZwickRoell.

Training courses for the International Sales & Service division will also be held in the new building in future. A total of four rooms are planned for this in order to optimally combine theoretical and practical knowledge transfer on static and dynamic testing machines. Anna Ruhland, member of the ZwickRoell Supervisory Board, emphasizes that this will secure a qualified workforce in the long term and strengthen the company's position as a leading employer in the region.

The training center is being built in the immediate center of the ZwickRoell company campus. The roof of the building will be equipped with a photovoltaic system that can generate up to 14.4 megawatt hours (MWh/a) of green electricity to make ZwickRoell's on-site power supply more self-sufficient. At this year's testXpo, the trade fair for testing technology in October, at least the first floor of the future training center will already be partially usable as exhibition space. The final completion of the 3-storey building with around 2,100 square meters of usable space is planned for the end of December.
