Gustav Eirich Award: Applications now open

Eirich gives the starting signal for the prestigious Gustav Eirich Award, which is being held for the 16th time this year. The award is aimed at young academics, who have until May 31 to submit dissertations and independent scientific papers relating to the refractories industry.

The award is an established platform for the presentation of forward-looking ideas and research results that contribute to the further development of technologies. "Our aim is to accelerate the transfer of scientific findings into industrial practice, to find new impetus and to offer young talent an opportunity. The Gustav Eirich Award promotes the potential of young academics whose work strengthens the innovative power of the industry and shapes future developments. In a rapidly changing world, a smooth flow of knowledge between academic research and industrial application is essential," says Managing Director Stephan Eirich.

The award is presented in partnership with the ECREF European Centre for Refractories, the scientific institution of the German Refractories Industry Association. A jury of independent experts from industry and science from Germany, France, Austria, Poland, Spain and the USA will evaluate the submissions. The best entries will be awarded cash prizes of 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 euros.

The award ceremony will take place as part of the “International Colloquium on Refractories” (ICR) on September 17 and 18 in Aachen. All information: Gustav Eirich Award
