The Board of Directors of Resand has appointed Mikko Immonen as the company's new CEO. He started in the position on 11 August 2025. The previous CEO, Kalle Härkki, continues as the Chairman of the Board.
Immonen has over 20 years of experience in managing international businesses. He has acted in several management positions at international companies of various sizes in the mining and metals industry, as well as renewable energy. "We have an excellent opportunity to continue Resand's growth story and expand into new market areas. Resand's references are strong, and the Sand As A Service model has received a lot of praise from customers," the manager says.
Sand suitable for industrial use is becoming scarce. However, the extraction of virgin sand can be reduced, and the resulting loss of biodiversity is slowed down by regenerating and reusing sand. Resand is a Finnish technology company specializing in foundry sand regeneration, offering clean sand as a service. According to the company, the Resand solution enables almost 100% recycling of foundry sand and reduces CO2 emissions from sand use and transport by up to 80%.
