The international Unimetal Group, headquartered in São Paulo, has acquired the German company CS Additive through its Dutch subsidiary Unimetal B.V. Based in Brüggen, CS Additive specializes in the production of carbon products for the iron and steel industry and is best known for its "Carbolux" product line.
The acquisition includes the Brüggen production facility and the company’s entire workforce. Founded over 40 years ago, CS Additive is considered one of Europe’s leading producers of carburizing products. “CS Additive location in the industrial heart of Germany, will play an important role to process and
distribute our entire product portfolio,” says Alan Yung, CEO of Unimetal. The group has previously expanded its global footprint in the metallurgical carbon sector through acquisitions such as Larpen in the United States and the Desulco product line.
Unimetal employs over 2,000 people worldwide and supplies petroleum coke and premium carbon products to the metallurgical and other industrial sectors. With the acquisition, the company aims to strengthen its presence in Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, and India. Future efforts will also focus on products manufactured using environmentally friendly, energy-efficient processes and state-of-the-art thermal cleaning technology.
"I am proud of how the previous owners and we have managed to build the Carbolux business over 40 years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, suppliers and especially our employees for supporting us over this long period of time," said Manfred Kühn, CEO of CS Additive. I am confident that all our partners and stakeholders will benefit of Unimetal's expertise to take the business to the next level."
